Illinois Dui Offense
Why is someone given a temporary 45 day license after an Illinois DUI?
I know someone that was recently arrested for DUI and had her car impounded. I do not know if this is her first offense or not. According to the Secretary of State, a person is given a 45 day temporary "license," with the suspension starting on the 46th day. Does this mean that a person, who just got the DUI, is allowed to drive for 45 days? I don't get this.
Thanks!
He has 45 days to appeal the charge otherwise he's taking the bus and may lose the car since you can't be insured without a license.
