To qualify for a work permit in CT, do they contact your employer?

In order to apply for a special operators permit to drive to work/school, the DMV needs to verify your work hours and days. On the application it doesn't have you put down a contact number for your employer. Do they call your employer or the main number? Most people wouldnt want their supervisors knowing they got a DUI...do they contact human resources and if so, are they obliged/allowed to tell your boss?? How does this work?

I doubt they would do it by telephone. They would probably mail your employer a letter or a form to fill out.
