Help Please!!!?

my friend recieved his 2nd DUI back in June while already having a pending felony for drug possession 8 months ago. he's 24 now and his first DUI was when he was 18. His court date is at the end of the month...what are the chances he'll go to jail and for how long?? We live right on the border of Mass and CT...he got it while in CT though....oh and Thanks for the suggestion on getting "better" friends but just to clear things up....I have great friends... this one just makes stupid choices and hangs out with the wrong crowd most of the time, but he's a great guy!!

A second DUI offense usually results in higher fines, loss of license, and maybe some jail time, usually not more than six months. The felony drug possession is another matter. He could be looking at some hard time for this, measured in years rather than months. Much will depend on his previous criminal record, which the DUI charges did not help; and how cooperative he was with drug investigators looking for who he bought the drugs from.

You don't say if the drug charge is Federal or State, that too, makes a difference. A State Court might be more lenient.

Frankly, Kelsey, I think you should be prepared for the worst.
