Dui Dwi Michigan
First offense DUI/DWI in Michigan?

I was recently pulled over and blew a .11. I have no record and this is my first offense, what kind of money am I looking at? How long will I have a suspended license? Also, the officer who pulled me over was technically (but barely) out of jurisdiction and didn't read me my rights (he said he was going to arrest me and walk me thru it but he never told me "you have the right to remain silent....") Should I mention this or just try not to make this case harder then it has to be?

As you have already read in previous answers, the officer was not required to read you your rights.

Your driving privileges will be suspended for a minimum of six months, but you can apply for a restricted license (AKA work permit, hardship license) that will allow you very limited driving privileges after the first month.

The fine can go as high as $500, but there are other charges. Application fees for the hardship license, reinstatement fees after your suspension period is up, and a driver responsibility fee of $1,000 for the next two years. If you are under 21 it gets worse! I believe that you will spend about $3,000 before you are all done with this offense. You can also be order to serve up to 93 days in jail or 360 hours of community service.

One heck of an expensive mistake! On the bright side ... you didn't injure or kill anyone!
