My first Criminal Offense/ DUI in Virginia. HELP!?

So far I have figured out the minimum fine is $ 250.00.
One year of license suspension.
Alcohol education classes. ($300.00)

1. SR22 insurance? Do I have to have it? How cheap am i able to get it for?

2. Is there a good way to convince the Judge to give me the least possible penalties? I.E. my job loss, that I just enrolled back to school, what my plans are for the next 10 years?

3. Finally, something I am confused about is that I was issued a reckless driving ticket and a DUI, the officer was very specific that only one of the two would become my conviction. Is there a way to beat the DUI and take the reckless instead?

Any other tips or suggestions would be well appreciated guys, thank you very much.

You will need a lawyer. I would not trust legal advice from Yahoo! Answers, and the judge is not likely to get rid of the DWI or just give you the minimum because you don't want to pay more...
