Cell Phone Spying Story

Hi, my name is Maureen and I have a little boy named Tarell. It has been so hard for him since his dad died. It has been hard for me also. Because of what happened to me, I can tell you that once you are a single parent, you have to be twice as careful about dating again. Looking back on it, I can see how so many factors played into my nearly fatal mistake. Cell phone spying was the only thing that saved me from disaster.
Devastated
First, I was just devastated when Terry died. It was so unexpected. He was hit by a drunk driver on the way home from work. My life seemed to end that day. Terry and I were both young and still in love and we had a beautiful boy named Tarell who was an honor student in the third grade at Western Heights Elementary. We had never even given thought to life insurance so when Terry died I was left with nothing. By the way, if you don't have any, get it now. Back then, I would have frowned on cell phone spying as something bordering on sneaky.
It took me two years just to begin to get over Terry's death and during those two years we lost the house and had to move in with my mother. Tarell went from an honor student to failing. Looking back on it now, I believe he was a very angery boy. In a way, he lost both parents that night: Terry to death and myself to grief. After two years, I began to feel again and the feelings I had were of terrible loneliness and extreme concern over Terall. I also had the pressure of being a single parent and trying to make ends meet. These pressures and problems are not good to have when you start dating again.
If I had to do it over, I would havd gone to counseling until I knew I could live by myself as a single parent and then I would have had something to give another person and I wouldn't have been so blind to the obvious signs. But as they say, hindsight is 20/20 and so is cell phone spying as I was about to discover.
Jamal The Night Visitor
I met Jamal one night when my car wouldn't start after work. He seemed so concerned and helpful. When he came by to check up on my and Terall later in the week I was hooked. We were soon dating. It was wonderful at first. He helped around the house and best of all, he took time out for Terall, so I was startled one evening when my mother suddenly exclaimed how she didn't trust Jamal. I blew it off as just a mother's silly concerns.
It wasn't until Jamal wanted to move in with us that mother put her foot down. "Not in my house!" I was shocked. Jamal seemed to be the answer to my prayers. I would have moved out and lived with Jamal if I could have afforded a place because Jamal didn't seem to have a place of his own. "He is to much of a moocher", my mother explained. I tried to tell her that he was just down on his luck, but would soon have a huge inheiratence coming from his late fathers estate. Then he would pay me back for everything and buy us a proper house.
I had gotten Jamal and myself new cell phones so we could stay in touch and that was a big bone of contention between my mother and me. Then one evening I came home and mother had an article spread out on the table. She wanted me to read it. It was on how new technology allowed cell phone spying.
The article described how software could be installed on a cell phone and it was invisible to the user of that cell phone. Then you could go to a cell phone spying website and see all of the activity on that phone. You could see what numbers were called and when. You could see what numbers called the phone and when. You could see the location of the phone and even listen in on on going conversations
At first I was ferious with mom for even suggesting such a sneaky thing. I told her that Jamal was a kind man who meant us only good. After arguing with my mom I final told her that if she got the software, I would prove to her that Jamal was the real deal. I didn't think mom would actuall do it because she knows very little about technology. So when she showed me the liscense to the software she bought online I was surprised. "How much did this cost you?" I asked. I was surprised when she told me it was less than $60.
That night while Jamal was smoking outside we downloaded the software onto the cell phone I'd got for him and activated it. I can't tell you how shocked and floored I was as the data began pouring onto the website where you read the phone logs. The first thing that surprised me was the amount of calls Jamal made everyday, but that was only the tip of the ice berg. I was curious about the numbers Jamal was calling since there were several that he called the most and one in particular also called him. On a whim I dialed it.
A lady's voice came on the line and I asked her if she new Jamal. There was dead scilence and then she started demanding who I was and was I sleeping with her man. I hung up greatly shaken. I didn't know what to do.
I began checking the phones location with Google Maps whenever Jamal said he was going some where specific. He never was where he said he was going. He was always at a certian address. Now I was thoroughly suspicious so the next time the website indicated the phone was being used, I listened in and what I heard really scared me. It was Jamal discussing what sounded like a drug deal with someone. Theyt were arguing loudly when the voice suddenly said, "You'd better be careful or I'll kill you, your woman and kid." Jamal didn't even pause. He said to go ahead because "they weren't his wife or kid." I had heard enough.
I am not going to go into detail here about what happened next because I have a kid that I want to grow up as normal as possible. Needless to say Jamal is out of our lives and in prison right now and we are slowly healing. I guess the thing that hurts the most is how I took Terall's already painful life and just made it a lot worse. I sometimes just can't stand myself, but with counseling and work we are getting better and better each day.
My opinion of cell phone spying has completely changed along with many of my old beliefs. I now believe that you need to do what it takes to protect the people you love. That includes making sure you have life insurance, and using technology to help you keep your family safe.
